San Diego Redux

First thing to note, APA is not Comic-Con:

This is the same convention center. APA took up Halls A, B, and C. Comic-con took A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H and packed it. APA = 14,000 attendees, Comic-con = 135,000. Also, APA had a lot less costumes. APA did win with the number of sessions dedicated to "Sexual Orientation/Gender Issues" (277) while Comic-con only had 7. Comic-con did win with the freebies and the convention totes. By far.

It's still a HUGE convention center. I'm guessing a good half-mile long (this picture shows less than half of one side.
I didn't present at Comic-con (this year), but I did two things for APA, a poster on the importance of not flattening gender (psychologically)* and the other titled "Why can't you get this through your heads," it was about education :) Although the picture doesn't shown anyone in the front row, it was actually the most crowded session I attend with nearly 50 attendees...

*If you really want to know what it's about email me, it's not really easy to summerize in a blog post (or a poster for that matter, one of these days I'll learn).
